Unions may receive Obamacare tax waivers

The Wall Street Journal says that the Administration is considering giving unions a tax waiver that provides money for an Obamacare reinsurance fund.  The fund, which will reimburse insurers on the exchanges if their costs are higher than expected, is financed by every U.S. citizen with a private health plan. The fee is expected to be $63 per person next year.

US Companies Keep Billions Offshore

A top US newspaper claims that U.S. companies are making record profits, but the money is remaining offshore in various other countries where it is lightly taxed.  The Wall Street Journal compiled an analysis of 60 U.S. companies.  The report says altogether the companies deposited $166 billion offshore last year, shielding more than 40 percent of their annual profits from U.S. taxes.
