Members of the military and their families prefer Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton for president, a survey conducted by the politics and polling site Morning Consult has found.
The poll of 1,668 voters associated with the U.S. military breaks down like this:
Donald Trump – 47 percent
Hillary Clinton – 38 percent
Don’t Know/No Opinion — 14 percent
The poll also found nearly 46 percent of respondents in military households have a “very unfavorable” view of Clinton, while 35 percent feel similarly about for Trump.
Also, nearly seven in 10 military respondents think the country is “on the wrong track.”
As for President Barack Obama, Morning Consult found 47 percent approve of the commander in chief’s job performance while 50 percent do not. That finding nearly mirrors the general population, where 49 percent of voters approve of Obama, and 48 percent disapprove.
The poll conducted from March 13-24 has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.
