Pelosi Lays Out Democratic Agenda for New Congress

Nancy Pelosi, House Minority leader had revealed the new Democrat agenda come the new congress in 2015. They include increasing the minimum wage, putting more money into the nation’s infrastructure and cutting corporate tax breaks for companies that move their headquarters out of the country.

“In sharp contrast to Republicans whose first vote in the new Congress will be to advance additional tax cuts for the wealthy and special interests, we will bring forward the Stop Corporate Expatriation and Invest in America’s Infrastructure Act, which prevents U.S. corporations from renouncing their citizenship to dodge paying their fair share of taxes,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to her Democratic colleagues Monday.

“It’s time to stop rewarding companies that move overseas, and instead use those dollars to create good-paying jobs here at home,” the California Democrat added.

Also she said that “House Democrats will also put forward the CEO/Employee Pay Fairness Act,” which is “legislation to ensure that workers share in the fruit of their productivity, denying CEOs the ability to claim tax deductions on income over $1 million unless they give their employees a well-deserved raise.”

Democrat agenda mirrors that of President Barack Obama, who said during a December meeting with incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he wanted to work with Republicans on both tax reform and infrastructure spending in the new Congress.

Pelosi closed the letter to her fellow House Democrats by asking for their support in the vote for House Speaker Tuesday.

  1. Is, Pelowsi, really going to do all that? Well, if, Business, leaves this country, they leave. She cannot stop them. Infrastructure? What in the Hell does she know about that? She is a little ole House Minority leader, in Government. What does she know, better than the American People Know? Most likely, nothing. Another, Big, Bag, of Wind.
